On Ofsted's grades as at 31 August 2026, CR0 Croydon has the most state schools rated Outstanding (10), followed by SW19 Wimbledon (9), N1 Islington (7), E1 Whitechapel (7), E17 Walthamstow (7). A school in a postcode district is not a school its homes are in the catchment of: admissions depend on distance, faith and sibling rules that change every year. Open state primary, secondary and all-through schools whose address is in each postcode district (special schools and nurseries excluded), from the DfE register, with each school's own current Ofsted grade from the monthly management information as at 31 August 2026. A grade carried over from a predecessor school (before it became an academy) is not counted. Separate infant and junior schools count as two. Districts are ranked by the number rated Outstanding, then by the Outstanding share of graded schools; districts with fewer than 3 schools or mostly outside Greater London are not ranked.
